Samsung has unveiled new flexible OLED screens that clearly show the direction in which phones and tablets will develop. So we are waiting for really large, foldable tablets and smartphones that can be folded "three times".
Samsung Display hasn't shown the real devices yet. The images we can see come from the announcement of Samsung Display's presence at the Society for Information Display conference. The exhibition will take place online on Friday, May 21.
Samsung has already announced that it will present a 7.2-inch screen that can be folded many times. This is an indication that we will see a phone folded "accordion", as you can see in the photo above. We have already heard rumors that Samsung intends to launch such a phone on the market.
Another novelty is a 17-inch screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Samsung argues that thanks to it you will be able to wear something small, but watch something big. You will be able to use it as a tablet when folded in half, and when unfolded it will replace a full-size monitor. The concept of this device brings to mind the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold, only Lenovo hardware is a computer with Windows 10 and an Intel processor, and Samsung will probably aim at Android and Arm.
During Samsung's presentation, we will also see screens capable of hiding the camera, intended for both smartphones and laptops, where they will hide the webcam. Rumors say that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold3 is to have a front camera hidden under the screen.
The rumors about the Samsung screen for side-sliding phones have also been confirmed. Thanks to this, more constructions reminiscent of Oppo X 2021 will be able to be created.
We are waiting for the results. The presented screens will be available not only for Samsung phones, but also for other manufacturers.
