The cheaper version of last year's Samsung flagship is available in two editions from the day of its premiere:
For some time, rumors have been circulating on the network that Samsung is planning to release a third variant with Snapdragon 865 (or 865+), but ... 4G connectivity. Reports are just being confirmed.
The new Galaxy S20 FE has appeared on the Samsung website
The variant marked SM-G780G landed in the online store of the Swedish branch of the company. It is true that it is still listed as unavailable, but Samsung is clearly getting ready to start selling.
The most interesting thing in the story is that the Snapdragon 865 has a built-in 5G modem and is not removable. Samsung can only disable it programmatically (or rather not activate it).

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get official information on this yet, but I have & hairsp; - & hairsp; seems to me & hairsp; - & hairsp; a plausible theory.
Due to the pandemic, the consumer electronics market is struggling with a crisis dictated by a shortage of silicon, which is necessary for the production of mobile systems. Perhaps for this reason, continuing the production of last year's chip became impossible or unprofitable for Samsung, and it turned out to be more reasonable to reach for the partner's chips.
It is worth noting here that the mere fact that the built-in 5G modem is not activated can actually reduce costs and offer the product at a lower price. Expenses related to the certification process by regulatory authorities or the preparation of software for operators are disappearing.
The new Samsung Galaxy S20 FE can combine the advantages of both variants available so far
Numerous comparative tests leave no doubt that the Snapdragon 865 is more efficient than the Exynos 990 and more favorable to the battery. What's more, it has a more effective image sensor, which translates into a slightly better quality of photos.
The downside of the Qualcomm unit, however, is the higher price. The Galaxy S20 FE started from PLN 2,899, and the S20 FE 5G cost PLN 3,399 at the beginning. The new variant should be cheaper than the 5G version.
So far, I have not received information when (or if at all) the refreshed Galaxy S20 FE will appear in Poland. However, it is likely because I found its designation on the technical support website of the Polish Samsung branch.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE with Exynos 990 drastically cheaper
In the official Samsung store, the price has been reduced from PLN 2,899 to PLN 2,299. Some of the company's partners descended for another hundred and so in RTV Euro AGD, Media Markcie or Neonet you can buy it 2199 PLN. It is & hairsp; - & hairsp; in my opinion & hairsp; - & hairsp; an extremely good offer.
There is a potential job of cleaning up magazines before the new version's debut, so if someone doesn't mind Exynos, there might be a better opportunity. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is still a full-fledged flagship with a very good camera with a telephoto lens, 120 Hz AMOLED screen, a waterproof housing with a metal frame, stereo speakers and wireless and reverse charging.
It is in vain to look for a second such connection at this price. Ba & hairsp; - & hairsp; most smartphones up to PLN 3500 are more compromise.
