The flood of telephone spam can throw anyone off balance. Tiring calls from telemarketers or scammers offering pots for PLN 2,000 or photovoltaics can be effectively limited or even completely blocked.
Fighting this type of intruder on your own is doomed to failure. The best we can do is stop taking calls from unknown numbers. So it is better to reach for applications that will immediately suggest whether a given number is not used by scammers or telemarketers. Moreover, they can even automatically block these types of connections.
Hiya: ID for spammers and telemarketers
The most famous application on the market that allows you to block unwanted calls is Hiya: ID. According to the manufacturer's information, the program allows you to check the ID of each caller. In this way, the user can only answer calls from the people he wants to talk to, even if they are not in his contact list.
The most important function of the app, however, is call blocking. Hiya has a blacklist of bot and spammer numbers that can block telemarketers and scammers. After installing the application, the user can immediately redirect them to his voicemail.
In addition to the built-in list, there is also a privacy control that allows you to create your own blacklist of unwanted numbers. This is not the end, however, as automatic alerts in the Hiya application inform the user whether incoming calls are coming from spammers. By reporting fake numbers, the application can warn its other users.
An interesting option in the application is the identification of the sender of the SMS. In a situation where the number does not exist in our contact database, Hiya will try to identify it and provide its details. The application also allows reverse phone search. By entering an unknown number, you can find out whether the caller is a spammer, fraudster or ordinary caller.
The application is, in theory, free. In reality, however, it is imperative that you pay for a subscription that gives users complete protection from intrusive calls.

Truecaller for identifying numbers
Truecaller is a program that works in a similar way, it is used to identify the numbers calling us. This application places particular emphasis on recognizing and alerting its users to numbers belonging to spammers or fraudsters. Before installing it, however, you should consider if you do not mind sharing your own contact database, which is required by it.
By building a huge database of contacts collected from Truecaller users, Truecaller can provide them with accurate number rating and alerting of intruders. The developers of the application ensure that the obtained data is used primarily to identify sensitive contacts. However, other Truecaller users are not able to access complete information about a given contact other than by sending us a request to share it.
Something that is not for this Hiya is the ability to suggest new contacts to our list based on mutual friends. Like any such feature, however, it has two sides to the coin. Just as we may be suggested people with whom we do not necessarily want to keep in touch, they may also be offered to add us to their phone book.
