Based on Android 12, the new Samsung system is starting to be made available to new devices. After the latest flagships, the time has come for last year's phones from the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lines.
Samsung has been a leading manufacturer of Android devices for a long time in terms of quick and efficient software update release. Flagship models receive them instantly, and even the cheaper ones are not overlooked. Service updates were often delivered to the Galaxy S faster than to Pixel phones.

Android with One UI 4.0, i.e. a system based on Android 12, was already received in November by the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra phones. From now on, the update is also available for last year's models, i.e. Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy Note20.
The update is made available in waves, so over the next days it is made available to other groups of devices. So not everyone will get them right away. For example, we already know that phones intended for the Swiss market already report the availability of an update. Those from Poland, at the time of putting this text for publication, not yet.
Android with One UI 4.0 for Galaxy S20 - what's new?
One of the most important visual changes of the new system is the ability to personalize the colors in the interface. Android with One UI 4.0 can adjust the colors of buttons, balloons, sliders and backgrounds to the currently selected wallpaper. Another change is widgets and widget recommendations. The widget selection panel will also change, making it easier to find the one the user is looking for. You can also add widgets to your favorites. Additionally, the appearance of all widgets is unified. Everyone has rounded corners now.
Another new feature in Android with One UI 4 is the dark mode, which will now include interface backgrounds, wallpapers, but also the app icons themselves. They will be darker. The Picture in Picture mode has also been improved, in which the window with the movie can be moved to any place on the screen and its size can be freely changed. The distribution of items in the quick settings panel will also change, and you will be able to change the audio source with one click, even on the lock screen.
In addition, privacy markers will appear in the upper right corner, indicating with a color whether any application is using a microphone or a camera at a given moment. In addition, in the new system, you can decide how precise location information is to be used by a given application.

Samsung has suspended the distribution of updates for this year's flagship models for a few days due to users' reports of defects affecting the stability and culture of the system. This problem, according to the manufacturer, has been resolved and the distribution of updates has been resumed. People who installed the update before these vulnerabilities were discovered will receive a minor maintenance update that fixes them.
