iOS: How to Turn Off Shortcuts App Automation Notifications on iPhone

Are you using iOS Shortcuts App Automation? Do you get a lot of unnecessary automation notifications and it is annoying to you? Fortunately, there's a way to turn them off.

Each time iOS triggers an automation, a notification is displayed. If we often use a lot of automation, such notifications can be very tiring. They clutter up the notification center and with the excess of messages, it is easy to overlook what is important. So, is it possible to turn off the automation notifications? Yes, although it is a bit complicated because you can't do it by using the notification manager in the Settings app.

In iOS 12, automation notifications could initially be turned off in Settings, as well as notifications from all other apps. However, for unknown reasons, subsequent iOS updates had this feature removed. In iOS 13 and iOS 14, Apple has not reverted disabling notifications, but there is a workaround for this.

How to turn off automation notifications

Note: Only automation notifications require Screen Time to be active. If you haven't used this feature before, you need to turn it on. The instructions can be found at the end of the text.

For starters, launch the Settings app and go to Screen Time. Then tap View all activity and find Shortcuts under Notifications. Tap Shortcuts.

On the next screen, slide the switch next to Turn on notifications to the left.

Note: If there is no arrow symbol next to Shortcuts and nothing happens when selected, use the buttons at the top of the screen and navigate to another day. If there are no Shortcuts on the list, also go to another day, because maybe on the current day Automations did not display notifications yet.

To activate the screen time function

Launch the Settings app and select Screen Time. Now, on the Screen Time screen, tap Next. Then select This is my iPhone. On the next screen, tap Enable Screen Time.

Note: if the screen time function has not been active so far, you have to wait a few hours for the option to turn off notifications until the necessary data is collected. In extreme cases, it may take up to a day.

What you need to keep in mind when disabling notifications

Only notifications for automation have no effect on shortcuts. You can still use shortcuts that need pop-up dialogs and notifications to work efficiently.

Exclusive automation notifications work until you restart your iPhone. If you turn the phone off and on, you must perform the procedure to turn off automation notifications again.
