Apple's update policy is also not flawless
Many people praise Apple for introducing new software versions even for 6-year-old smartphones, while in the case of Android, the support period ends in 2-3 years at best. However, it must be remembered that the approach of Google and Apple cannot be directly compared.
While in the case of Android, many system applications and components are updated regardless of the software version, even minor changes to Safari, Apple Maps, or FaceTim require a whole system update. Effect? Over 75 percent what's new in iOS 15 are changes to system apps, something that Google does from the Play Store.
In addition, not every novelty in applications goes to all iPhones. Of course, sometimes this is due to obvious hardware limitations (e.g. lack of 5G), but the lack of AR mode in Maps or text recognition in photos may disappoint users of older iPhones. After all, the Android equivalents of these functions work even on smartphones much older than the iPhone XS.
