iOS 15 - check how to prepare your iPhone for the update

iOS 15 is the latest operating system for iPhone smartphones. Apple presented it in June 2021 at the Apple WWDC 2021 developer conference. After less than three months of testing by developers and willing users, the time has come to release the final version of the software for compatible devices.

Update to iOS 15 - check if you can install it

Update to iOS 15 - remove unnecessary applications and files

Updating your smartphone to the latest firmware version is a good time to remove unnecessary applications, programs, photos and files. It is worth spending several minutes to get rid of items that we do not use. This action will positively affect the smooth operation of our phone.

Uninstall apps and games from Settings > General > iPhone (place).

Remember that you need several gigabytes of free disk space to install the new version of the operating system. The exact amount varies depending on the type of phone you have, but it's good to secure at least 5 GB of free storage space.

Update to iOS 15 - make a full backup

Before upgrading to the next version of iOS, it's a good idea to make a full backup. You can use a Mac with Finder, a Windows computer with iTunes, or iCloud. It doesn't matter which way you choose - it's important to make a full backup before updating to iOS 15. In case of problems with the new software, you will be able to restore your data without any problems.

Update to iOS 15 - charge your phone and prepare Wi-Fi

Once you've done the previous steps, make sure your smartphone is at least 75% charged. Apple declares that a 50% battery level is enough, but in the case of older devices, it is better to charge them practically to full capacity. It is also worth taking care of a fast and stable Internet connection. iOS 15 installation files can weigh up to several gigabytes.

Attention! Please wait a few days before updating to iOS 15

You are going to install the new system immediately after its market debut. Attention! It's worth waiting a few days. Why? First of all, immediately after the debut of the update, Apple servers will certainly slow down. This means that you will download the update even for a few hours. In addition, by waiting several hours, in case of any errors, you will learn about them from the Internet, not your device.

Apple will present the new iPhone 13 today. We expected that the company would announce the launch of an update to iOS 15 on the occasion, but in the end it is unlikely to happen.

On Monday, September 13, 2021, Apple unexpectedly released iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, watchOS 7.6.2 and macOS 11.6. New operating systems patch serious security holes. Apple would rather not introduce these updates if iOS 15 were to appear on the market today.

Apple will unveil new iPhone models tonight, and the iOS 15 update is likely to arrive next week. iPhone 13 will go on sale on September 24, 2021 - this means that iOS 15 will definitely appear on the market a little earlier. We expect the update to be available between September 20 and September 23, 2021.

We already know that Apple will officially launch the iOS 15 operating system today - on Monday, September 20, 2021.

The Cupertino giant has announced that the update will arrive at 10 AM PST (Pacific Standard Time). This means that in Poland the software will be available from 19:00.

Remember that iOS 15 in the first version will not offer several flagship features that will only appear with subsequent updates. In addition, for the first few hours, there will almost certainly be a problem with downloading the update. All because of the excessive load on the servers caused by making the software available for all compatible devices at the same time.
