iOS 14 vs iOS 15 - how the iPhone system changes [comparison;Update 14.07]

Taking the opportunity to have two iPhone smartphones with iOS 14.6 and iOS 15 operating systems, I decided to check what both operating systems look like in direct comparison.

In this comparison I will leave the issue of new functions, and I will raise visual changes that affect the way of using the iPhone.

I used the iPhone 11 (iOS 14.6) and iPhone 12 Pro (iOS 15 Public Beta 2) to compare.Both devices used the same backup - the data from the iPhone 11 were recreated on the iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 15.

Home

The iOS 14 and iOS 15 home screen is almost identical.At first glance, we will not see the changes.Only after the direct juxtaposition of both smartphones will it turns out that iOS 15 slightly more rounded bottom belt with pinned applications.The font size is also different, but it is related to a different resolution in both smartphones.

The skilled eye will see that on the above screenshots the application application has different names.At iOS 15, Apple decided to use a Polish -language name.In iOS 14, the portfolio application is called Wallet (just like in the English version of the system).

Pictures

The photo application in iOS 15 has received new functions.I am talking about automatic creation of videos from memories.The whole uses photographs and films gathered in the internal memory of our smartphone.Apart from the new function, the program interface has not changed and looks identical.

The camera

The camera application remained unchanged.Apple moved it from iOS 14 to iOS 15. When browsing individual options, we will not come across new solutions.

Weather

The weather in iOS 15 has been thoroughly modernized.This is very good news, because the weather application in iOS 14 and previous versions of the operating system was outdated.The upcoming update will introduce an updated application that offers new weather animations.In addition, a map showing the temperature distribution will appear.Apple also added other hourly and 10 -day forecasts.Be glad that in iOS 15 additional information is also presented in the form of graphs.They make it much easier to interpret the current weather conditions.

Wallet

Earlier I mentioned that in iOS 15 Apple used a Polish name for the portfolio application.These are not the only changes.The program has a slightly modified start menu, which allows you to quickly add a credit card or debit card.The solution itself also got the ability to store home keys or hotel rooms.

AppStore

The application store looks identical in both versions of the operating system.

Maps

In iOS 15 maps have received a new icon and more accurate terrain reproduction.Unfortunately, the second option is only available in the United States.At first glance, the weather application looks identical.

Only after going to the map settings option are subtle differences visible.In iOS 15 it looks easier for maps.A map called Car also appeared.It only displays information important from the driver's point of view.This means that we will not see, for example, the name of the forest or park near which we are passing.In return on the maps we will find the name of each street nearby.

Settings

We will also get a slight visual change.Apple got rid of vertical belts separating the description of individual options.Instead of them in iOS 15, everything is displayed in slightly rounded bubbles.

Safari

Safari is the biggest novelty in iOS 15. The network browser has a completely redesigned user interface.The address bar has been moved down the screen, and the program is better using the available working surface.Apple has added card group support, the ability to adapt the home screen to your own preferences and support the extensions, which we know from the desktop version of Safari to MacOS.

Compared to iOS 14, the new version looks much better and is more functional.

Notes

The application application was also updated.Visual changes are associated with the new feature of tagging individual notes.Apple has added tags tab, which collects notes sorted on the tags used.

What changes await us in iOS 14?

Finally, it is worth adding that iOS 14 is waiting for one more development update, which will appear before the September share of iOS 15. This is the update of iOS 14.7, which was tested for the last few weeks with iOS 15 Developer Preview and iOS 15 Public Beta.Apple has already launched iOS 14.7 in the Release Candidate version, so the update for everyone should be made available in a few days.

iOS 14.7 activates the iPhone models 12 return wireless charging, which is required for the operation of the Magsafe battery.This means that the premiere will take place in a maximum of a week (then the first powerbanks will go to consumers).

The new Soft will also introduce the Apple Card Family function and will allow you to set HomePod speaker timers from the DOM application.

Apple will also introduce several error corrections.Among other things, we are talking about problems with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio.

We also expect iOS 14.7 to finally repair the bug with excessive battery wear that appeared on selected iPhone copies after updating to iOS 14.6.

Summary - iOS 15 looks similar to iOS 14, but there was a change

The upcoming iOS 15 operating system will introduce several visual changes, but we have nothing to count on the iOS 14 style revolution.The company refreshed selected system applications, but calmly - the whole is transparent and intuitive.After updating to iOS 15 you will not have to learn to use your phone again.
