Everyone owning Apple hardware knows its pros and cons. Regardless of the prevailing advantages, very often we do not pay attention to the "dark" sides of manufacturers, which can discourage. In the case of Apple, such a dark side is the post-warranty service of iPhones. Unfortunately, according to the manufacturer's services, some damage resulting from the fault of the user cannot be removed by repair. Regardless of the advantages of the latest iPhone 13, its service (replacement of the display) will not make sense.

We have about 2 weeks left until the next launch of the Apple brand. According to (un)official sources, the press conference of the company from Cupertino was announced for September 14, where we hope to get to know the hottest topic recently, i.e. the iPhone 13 and the entire family of these models. And although (un)official photos revealing the appearance of the latest flagships indicate not very large visual and design changes, we already know that after buying the latest iPhones, we will have to be careful not to damage them mechanically, because we may have problems with repair later.

Replacing the iPhone 13 display will be cosmically expensive!

My assumptions are mainly based on the current price lists and procedures of the Apple brand, which can be found on the manufacturer's website. Apple has already indicated to us in the case of previous models that any mechanical damage can end up costing us a lot. There is no indication that the iPhone 13 model is completely different. Reason? A difficult manufacturer's policy that works to this day. Mechanical damage is a frequent reason for visiting service centers. All because modern smartphones are very "slippery" and can easily slip out of our hands. Today's telephones are no longer just a simple device for contact via phone call, SMS or MMS. For some people, easy and fast syncing phones make life easier at every stage of life. What does it mean? These small and slippery devices accompany us, for example, during morning jogging, exercise or even study. Phones exposed to "cooperation" in various environments can easily be damaged, especially the glass elements.

We're mainly talking about the display and battery cover here. Apple is quite strict about the paid removal of mechanical damage. It is enough that, apart from the LCD, the frame or other element is damaged, and then our device can only be replaced for a refurbished one for a fee. Is this a joke? No, just ask Apple users, and I'm sure they'll confirm that many of the service expertises they've seen haven't been very pleasant. It will be very similar with the iPhone 13 model (and the whole family). We can see this in the official price list for iPhone 12, where the replacement of the display costs PLN 1309. It is possible to carry out such a repair only in the absence of other damage (e.g. a chipped frame). Otherwise, the manufacturer's service can only offer us a replacement for a refurb at our expense.

If you think that replacing the display on the iPhone 13 will be much cheaper than PLN 1309, then unfortunately I have to worry you. The price may soar up or stay at a similar level, and I remind you that I am talking only about replacing the screen for the iPhone 13 model, not to mention other models.

The answers to the above question are very simple. First of all, let's try to take care of such expensive equipment (I'm not just talking about Apple), because visits to the manufacturer's services to repair a cracked screen simply do not make sense. In the event of any damage to the smartphone through our fault, we will be issued a large cost estimate, which will scare us at the entrance. I bet not many people will decide to do such an expensive repair. Or maybe there will be someone willing to sell some money? Then I recommend performing the repair at the Apple warranty service, because we gain a lot of benefits. Among them, of course, the renewal of the warranty from the moment of purchase.

Secondly, it is worth thinking about securing your smartphone. If we do not want to pay high money for replacing the display on the iPhone 13, which we just bought, let's look for insurance for the entire device. I agree it's also a cost, but it's better than no protection at all. I'm right? This is a very individual approach that each of you should review for yourself. Paid replacement of the display on the iPhone 13, or maybe insurance bought in advance, e.g. from the operator, spread out in installments? The decision is yours.

Thirdly, let's remember that in addition to insurance, we can protect the smartphone with all options available on the market. Of course, we are talking about covers and tempered glasses. There is a lot to choose from, and some manufacturers are still patenting new ways to protect our phones for quite small amounts. Advice number 3 perfectly fits the proverb: if you don't have what you like, you like what you have. Any smartphone protection is better than none.

Replacing the glass on the iPhone 13 is the last resort

Not every fall of the smartphone ends with a broken screen. There are (relatively often) only glass cracks, which fortunately can be separated from the entire display. Apple itself does not approve of such methods and does not offer this type of service, but this does not mean that they cannot be found on the Internet as maintenance services.

If our iPhone 13 doesn't need a display replacement, we're halfway there. The LCD is one of the more expensive parts, which is a pity to replace in its entirety when the glass is broken. Not one iPhone service Warsaw will certainly have a hankering for this type of service. Will it be expensive? We will certainly incur costs, but they will be slightly less. Currently, it's hard to say how they will look like for the iPhone 13, but we can estimate them in the range of about PLN 300-400 in relation to the overall replacement of the display. Of course, time is also important in such repairs. Devices age, and new higher models and depreciation does its job.

The iPhone 13 screen replacement process can refresh any broken smartphone. It is worth noting that damage often occurs right after the official sales of devices, and in this case, removing the damaged glass is one reasonable option that we can use. It is a pity to throw away an expensive phone with a functional display and considerable hardware capabilities.

We still have some time left until the premiere and official sale. It is worth bearing in mind all the above remarks when paying attention to every smartphone we buy. However, it is Apple in relation to customers that has very complicated service procedures, the implementation of which is not the cheapest. Let's hope that none of you will have to replace the glass on the iPhone 13, not to mention the spilled screen, because this is the worst thing that can happen to any user of modern smartphones.
