Okay, what is the problem - you will ask.The screens are defective, the devices need to be returned to the service, and this damaged element or the whole device - you probably think so.None of these things.Huawei copied from Apple only an idea for the appearance of the front of his device and was inspired a bit when designing the EMUI overlay, but he did not set himself as an example of how after -sales service works in Apple.
Huawei pretends there is no problem
Mate 20 Pro has already been on sale in Poland for several weeks and from the very beginning users report screens.Many people called Huaweia's hotline, no less people sought help through the official Facebook page, others went to the site.
However, they were not lucky, because in the initial phase Huawei did not take into account the possibility that he could make any mistake.The company stuck on the position that Mate 20 Pro is a super -superartphone, so customers should buy it and enjoy it.
Customers were often sent with a receipt, and authorized websites have often stated that green phone screens are ok and if the smartphone displays the green color in the place where only black should be currently, it should be.A card, printer, stamp and service already issues an expert on the lack of a defect on a green screen.
He also contacted Spider’s Web one of Huawei service technicians, who admitted that the company's headquarters initially ordered the techniques to underestimate complaints.However, a gate was left - the service technician could recognize that the green color hinders the use or discoloration is so intense that it should be reacted.
When the first reports about the problem appeared, the headquarters gave a message that the glow in this model may occur and this is normal, however, when it hinders use and it is large, the device should be returned to the service - explains Huawei service designer who wanted to keep anonymous.
Customers were sentenced to an individual assessment of the problem by the technician.One technician replaced the screen due to discoloration, another stated that the identical fault is not a fault.And so they were played with customers in a kitty and a mouse.
The headquarters wanted to have such a case every day reported, but did not yet provide any information about what to do with it, so everything was the responsibility of the websites - adds our informant.
Huawei sees the problem, but he can't solve it
Our service technician announced that at the beginning of November the message went: "that the displays, submitted under warranty, are to be replaced."However, after a few days: "It came to the information that there would be a replacement of the device in each case."
Huawei finally confessed to the mistake and began to replace the screens in Mate 20 Pro smartphones.After a few days he changed tactics and began to replace the entire devices.
So what - the problem is solved and we can spread?No, none of these things.
The problem, however, quickly returned, because it turned out that some new screens and new devices also have the same display defect.Users of these phones quickly noticed that Huawei is mounting screens from two manufacturers in the Mate 20 Pro model.Those from Boe Display seemed to be free from defects, while the screens from LG Display (or some of these screens) were characterized by green discoloration hated by customers.
I tried to get a comment to this matter from LG Polska.It was only possible to confirm that LG Display - a separate, sister company LG - is one of the screen providers for Huaweia.However, as the smartphone itself is a rather complex device, and its construction is complicated, it cannot be assumed that the problem lies with the screens provided by LG Display.
Huawei is a producer of the final device and as a brand owner must take full quality responsibility for the final product delivered to the market - the LG Polska representative commented for Spider's Web.
I was to receive a comment from the headquarters of LG Display, but he did not arrive for a week.I will keep trying.However, I did not want to delay the publication of this text, so I make it public without it, but I promise that if I find out something else, the text will be updated.
To sum up: the problem continued.Some of these phones were still defective.Some exchanged phones many times, because each time they got a new device that was damaged again.
Huawei must go straight
A month has passed since the premiere of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro phone in Poland, and the manufacturer is still trying to master the situation.Currently, defective phones are exchanged with new ones, and from a closed Facebook group I know that some service technicians are installing a special application on them before releasing the phone, which checks where the screen used in the device comes from.
Perhaps this is a common practice and all websites check that the new phone has a defect -free screen.
Perhaps Huawei withdrew from the use of LG Display screens.
Perhaps the problem did not lie in the screens, but in the wrong method of mounting them.
Perhaps Huawei also withdrew defective Mate 20 Pro phones from selling, because for several weeks the problem was that stores sold devices with LG screens, although it was known that they cause problems.There were absurd situations in which stores wanting to quickly and efficiently serve the customer's complaint exchanged his phone with a new one, and then again with a new one and again and again ... Because all the next ones also turned out to be defective.
Why do I write "maybe"?Because Huawei Polska decided to hide his head in the sand.My attempts to contact the company failed and I received only very laconic, nothing saying statement:
I would like to say that customer satisfaction is our priority and that we always consider each matter individually - this is the complete position of Huawei Polska, which I received in response to many questions I asked.
Huawei Polska could not officially admit his mistake, apologize to its clients and indicate the way it intends to solve the problem.The company also did not want to explain why it did not withdraw from the sale of devices that contain screens from a defective series.
This approach to the customer simply does not fit the company with such ambitions as Huawei.
