Design, quality of workmanship

My first impression after removing Realme 7i, I admit, it was ambivalent. On the one hand, this is not the most beautiful smartphone among all in its price shelf, on the other, it does not look bad at all.The easiest way to say that it does not catch our eyes too much, which some recipients will treat for the disadvantage, and the second part for the advantage - I will not decide it, the matter of taste.

At the same time, the REALME 7I design is so characteristic that it is difficult not to know it.Anyway, in recent days on Insta Story many influencers could be seen this model and it was enough to see the silver housing in "herringbone" (or, if you prefer, in a "Christmas tree";)), a square camera module (with a triple camera and LED)to quickly guess what this model is.

The realme 7i design was made of good quality plastic, although once in a while the test copy happened gently. The housing has one undoubted advantage, which I must mention: you can not see fingerprints and any dirt. And this mentioned "herringbone" (or "V") is a pattern felt under the finger, which is also quite pleasant.

  • The smartphone tested today is not the thinnest - its thickness is approaching the centimeter border. The weight is also worth mentioning, because it is as much as 209 g, but this is justified by the battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh.If someone asked me if I prefer a thinner and lighter phone with a smaller battery or thicker, heavier with a larger one - you know what I choose.

Realme 7i is quite lying in the hand, thanks to the edges of the winning. And since we are already with them, on the right we will find the volume control buttons and the switch, while on the left - a drawer with hybrid dual SIM (2x Nanosim or Nanosim + MicroSD).The upper edge remained undeveloped, while on the lower one we have 3.5 mm Jack Audio, USB type C, microphone and mono speaker.

At the end of this part of the review, I will only add that the smartphone is available for sale in two colors: Glory Silver and Victory Blue.It came to me, as it is easy to deduce after the attached photos, the first of them.

The device cannot boast of fulfilling any immunity norm, but at this price it is rather natural.

    Display

The screen, unfortunately, I can't save the realme 7I pluses. The mere fact that it has a 6.5 -inch diagonal and a resolution of only 1600 × 720 pixels (i.e. HD+) shows that we can not expect too much from it.And in fact, in fact low resolution means not entirely sharp fonts, but this should not be a major problem - we do not use smartphones in close range from the face. However - it is visible and it is worth keeping this in mind.

At the same time, I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised by what the image displayed by Realme 7i looks like. The contrast can be accused of little (which is not a standard at its price), the brightness is quite fine (both minimal and maximum), while the colors themselves seem to be a bit faded, but within reason.

In the Realme 7I settings we will find standard items, such as dark mode, eye comfort (blue light filter) or the option of changing the color temperature of the screen (the default is slightly warm - it's nice that it is possible to edit).

It is interesting that if you trace the market, you will find out that Realme has several smartphones that can be bought up to a thousand zlotys.Among them is Realme 6S, which can be pulled out for ok.PLN 799, i.e. a hundred more than a smartphone tested today.Interestingly, however, this device has both higher screen resolution - Full HD+ (instead of HD+) and a higher refresh value - 90 Hz (VS 60 Hz).

  • Operation, software

Realme 7I operates based on the octa -core MediaTek Helio G85 (MT6769Z) processor with a clock frequency of 2 GHz in cooperation with 4 GB RAM.The whole is completed by the Android 10 system in pure form - it was not littered by the manufacturer with too many add -ons or applications (so -called bloatwar).

  • The central unit used here is not the biggest miracle of the technique - I do not have to convince you of this. Thanks to him, Realme 7I works correctly and that's all you can say about it.In the basic tasks, such as the use of online messengers, browsing the network and ringing, works great, and it was created for such applications.

The more applications we open and the more demanding the programs, the more weakness of the phone we will observe - the animations will slow down, the applications will open for a long time, reloading and so on.In general, however, I have to admit that the operation of this phone, for the price, is very fine - it does not hang, not mussels, in general it is ok.

As for daily use, unfortunately, no support for displaying Netflix in high resolution.A glance in the application settings and everything becomes clear - Realme 7I has only Widevine L3, which means that it is able to play content only in SD quality. It is a pity, because the low quality of materials viewed on the screen of this device is noticeable.

In synthetic Realme 7i tests it is very decent - similarly or even better than smartphones, which I recently tested, like Vivo Y70 (costing PLN 1099) or Huawei P Smart 2021 (costing the same as Realme 7i).

    Benchmarks:

  • 3DMark:
  • If you would like to play Realme 7I in games, choose the less graphically advanced. The newer and more advanced, the more you seem to cage the animation while playing - you can experience them even in Asphalt 9.

What interesting can we find in the Realme 7I software? As I have already mentioned, there is not much of it, but in the case of a cheap smartphone you can treat it as an advantage - there are no functions that would be unnecessarily burdened with the system.

  • In the settings you will find the option responsible for blocking the screen by knocking on the screen twice (only works on the main screen), an intelligent side belt (with selected applications / abbreviations at hand), game space, divided screen or several gestures.Among them:

Staying in the subject of the software, two bugs caught my eyes. The first is the option of uninstalling the application - it can be removed or ... deleted - it is known, one delete replaces uninstall, but this error is fun;).The second thing is the dark mode, which is experimental and you can see it - just see what Messenger looks like - do you see a puncture on the main screen?Well, you think well, it shouldn't be.

  • Realme 7I communication facilities include dual -band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE and GPS.All modules work very well, without any deviations from the norm.On the downside, unfortunately, no NFC, which means that this smartphone cannot be paid using Google Pay.The quality of phone calls is completely flawless.

On board the tested smartphone you will find 64 GB of internal memory, which can be extended thanks to the microSD card slot.Due to the fact that we have a standard Dual SIM here, the availability of a memory card slot is not dependent on whether we use two nanosim sockets or one.

The speed of memory is as follows (Androbench):

  • Audio

It is not worth writing about the audio in Realme 7i, because you can write much good about it.The speaker is one, mono, in addition located on the bottom edge, which means that it is very easy to drown out the sound of the inner part of the hand from it.

"Take it from me," said Kuba after interrogating only pieces of a few of his recent songs. Then he added that he had not heard a worse speaker in the smartphone, even so cheap.Unfortunately, the truth is brutal - at the maximum volume Realme 7i does not allow you to listen to music.Everything blends with each other and it is simply unpleasant to the ears.It is charging and crackling ... It is a bit better when we do not use the full volume potential, but it is still only a very basic mono speaker.

Fortunately, Realme also gave 3 at our disposal.5 mm Jacek Audio - and that's definitely good news.Of course, you can also connect wireless headphones. Here I have to say that in combination with Samsung Galaxy Buds Live did without any problems.

    Biometric security

Looking at the Realme 7i housing, the round fingerprint reader, located slightly below the level level. This is a standard procedure used to make it easier to find the scanner even in the dark.Okay, how does it work?

Actually without any problems. Each finger application to the fingerprint scanner in Realme 7I, not even precise, ends with unlocking the phone. The reader is also doing great with a short application of your finger - you don't have to spend a few seconds on it, just put on a cycle and now.For this a big plus.

  • In addition, we can use the face recognition, but very basic, which makes it difficult to talk about any level of safety here.Good information, however, will definitely be the fact that I failed to cheat this solution with my photo. And even better - that face recognition in Realme 7i works quickly.

Both biometric security methods can also be used to protect the content of the safe on the phone and application encryption.

  • Realme 7I working time

Finally, we reach the most important feature of Realme 7I and at the same time its biggest advantage.A 6000 mAh battery less demanding users is able to allow you to forget about charging the phone for several long days - and I'm not talking about two or three or even four or five.Sounds impressive, right? Most importantly - it's not a joke, but a reality.

The phone in one day I was able to discharge only once and in addition, being on a long route (Warsaw - Opole - Warsaw). After making these 700 km by car, there was information on the screen that SOT is 12.5 hours (i.e. time on the screen on), with 8% of stock.

During a completely normal use mode, assuming that I used the phone during the day sitting at home and working all the time in front of the computer, on WiFi, I managed to discharge the phone in four days, reaching SOT at the level of over 13.5 hours. And it can be longer - five days are calm within reach.

  • At other times I decided to check how long the phone will work when I watch Netflix most of the time.I started the series, the screen for 50% brightness, wifi turned on, and standard use when I needed and after two days on the info screen that SOT was 18 hours ... It is impressive!

After switching to a given mobile working time is still perfect - two days away from the charger, of which OK on the screen.12 hours - yes, such results are easily within our reach.

In the set with the phone we get a 18-watt charger. We charge the first 25% in 35 minutes, 70% in an hour and 45 minutes, and 90% in two hours and 20 minutes. The last 10% loads the longest, for an hour.

For clarity I will add, Realme 7i does not support induction charging.

    The camera

We can more and more often observe that cheap smartphones have less and less functional cameras. And these are two lenses responsible for the same, and this is the lack of an ultra -ron angle, which until recently seemed to be a standard ... In Realme 7i, however, we have it, which should definitely please you.Similarly, as the fact that a professional mode is available here, which is not at all the obvious in this price shelf.

  • As for the photographic layer, in Realme 7i the main camera 48 Mpix f/1 is responsible for it.79, ultra -hemocial view with a field of view 119 ° 8 Mpix f/2.25 and Macro 2 Mpix f/2.4.We have a maximum of 10-fold zoom to be used, but of course you have to be aware that there is only a digital approximation here, the optical one is out of the question.

Pictures Cycane Realme 7i can surprise during the day.On the plus side, above all, the fact that he can distinguish the first plan from the second, without the need to use portrait mode - BOKEH can really like it (provided that we photograph in good light).

  • The detail of the pics is not crazy, but in general they can not say that they are bad - they are, for a smartphone from this shelf, they are simply pretty. In general, however, there is a lack of tonal span and a bit more real color reflection - these in the pictures can be clearly curled relative to reality.

The portrait mode, in turn, can be capricious - in a large part of the cases it requires moving away from the object to a considerable distance and inaccurately cuts out the photographed person / item from the background, but the general effects can be liked anyway.Macro, in turn, is to enable photography from a distance of ok.4 cm, but it's only 2 Mpix, so don't expect too good results.

  • Night photos taken in automatic mode look like hazy.Or as if the lens was dirty while photographing. However, a lot of noise and lack of details are striking right away.Switching to night mode clearly improves the situation with colors, it also slightly conquers the contrast, but it can not be said that the final effects are at least satisfying.Remember, however, that this is a cheap phone - you can't expect too much from it.

Ultrashherok angle during the day is doing well (although it is definitely worth looking at the edges of the photos that are even blurred), but at night it copes, obviously, even worse - regardless of whether we take photos in automatic or night mode - the latter onNot much seems here.

  • At the front in Realme 7I we have a camera with a resolution of 8 Mpix, placed in a tear in the central part of the screen. The resulting photos are completely good - you can evaluate yourself:

  • Video with the main camera can be recorded in a maximum of Full HD in 60 FPS, while the front - also in Full HD, but in 30 FPS.

    Summary

I have repeatedly remembered in my tablet reviews that the cheaper the smartphone, the more compromises we have to be ready to agree.Exactly with the same situation we are dealing with Realme 7I.The only question is whether you are able to accept these compromises.

The biggest defects of Realme 7I undoubtedly include HD+ resolution at a 6.5 "diagonal (let's consider that at this price for refreshment of the 60 Hz screen you can wave your hand), no NFC or the need to use VOD services in quality VOD services only SD.

In return, we get a sensational, but it's really a great time away from a charger (so much that you can forget about charging your smartphone at times), USB type C or 3.5 mm Jacek Audio.Importantly, there is also an ultrazero -angle camera, which is not a standard in this price shelf lately lately.
