This may be one of the most important moments in the development of the 5G network in Poland - on Monday, May 11, Plus will launch the first commercial 5G network in our country. It will reach several hundred thousand people, but the operator's plans are much larger.
People with 5G internet compatible equipment will be able to take advantage of the new generation of connectivity as early as on Monday, provided that, of course, they are within the range of the network built by Plus.
Plus it starts with 5G - so far for less than a million Polish residents
On May 11, it will launch the first 5G network in Poland on the 2.6 GHz TDD frequency. The network of 100 transmitters will operate in the area of 7 Polish cities - Warsaw, Gdańsk, Katowice, Łódź, Poznań, Szczecin and Wrocław. This does not mean, however, that the coverage will cover the entire cities mentioned - in total, 900,000 people will be in the coverage zone, so 100 masts will be located in specific districts.
The frequency used will allow to obtain internet speeds of up to 600 Mb / s, and the current use of this band will provide better coverage than in the case of using only the 3.4-3.8 GHz band and will allow to maintain the possibilities related to the aggregation of 5G bands at further stages of network construction .

This is only the first step
The launch of 100 stations in 7 cities in Poland on Monday is the beginning of 5G in Plus (the first stage of 900,000 people within reach). At the same time, as part of the second phase of the 5G network implementation, work has begun on the installation of over 600 additional stations located in Warsaw and the surrounding towns (over 2 million people).
Thanks to this, the latest generation network will cover over 3 million inhabitants of 7 cities and the Warsaw agglomeration. By the end of the year, a large part of the planned additional 600 stations for Warsaw and the agglomeration will be built, and the whole should be completed in the first months of next year.
Importantly, along with the implementation of the commercial 5G network in Plus, it will be available to all customers of Plus and Cyfrowy Polsat network subscription offers living in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Katowice, Łódź, Poznań, Szczecin and Wrocław, who are within the range of 100 5G stations and have equipment that supports 5G technology using the 2.6 GHz frequency. The offer of tariffs using 5G connectivity (including devices) will be presented soon.
Well - it remains to wait for what the new generation of Internet connectivity can do - speeds of 600 Mb / s are impressive and hopefully with time more people will gain access to them.
