To take a screenshot on an Android smartphone, all you need to do is use the appropriate button combination.

- for devices with a physical Home button (located on the front bottom of the device), you need to press both: Home and the lock button;

- for models without a Home button, press simultaneously: the lower volume button and the power button.

The buttons should be held down for about two seconds. The screen made in this way will be automatically saved in the system Gallery application.

In the case of laptops and desktops, a special key comes to the rescue - print screen (most often marked with the PrtScr abbreviation). After pressing it, the screen content will be copied to the clipboard. To save it on disk, open the selected image editing program, eg Paint, and then use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V or the paste option. Now just save the file and you're done.

It is worth noting that - depending on the keyboard - the print screen may be in the same place as the Insert key. In this case, taking a screenshot requires pressing the function key (Fn) and PrtScr at the same time.

The above procedure is for saving the appearance of the entire screen. However, Windows allows you to take a snapshot of only the active window. To perform such a selective screen, hold down PrtScr and Alt at the same time, and then save the contents of the clipboard in the same way as described above (i.e. in the Paint graphics program).

The lack of a keyboard with a separate PrtScr key does not exclude the possibility of saving the screen content. Taking a screenshot on a tablet is a matter of using a simple button combination, namely: the Windows button (marked with the Windows logo and placed under the screen) and the hardware volume down button. The screenshot will be saved in the screenshots / screenshots directory, located in the photos / photos folder.

Users of Apple products, wanting to take a screenshot, have to hold down the Home button and the power switch at the same time. Then the screen content will be saved in the Camera Roll folder (Photos application).
