Huawei Watch 3 with HarmonyOS confirmed. It will be a real smartwatch

Huawei has confirmed that at the upcoming premiere of HarmonyOS and new brand products, we will see, among others, Huawei Watch 3, also with this system. Some functions of the watch are known unofficially and they promise to be very interesting.

As we wrote before, on June 2 at 2 p.m. of our time, a large Huawei product conference will take place in China, during which the company will present its new products. It will mainly be HarmonyOS 2.0 in the final version, as well as devices working under the control of this system, which is to compete with Android.

One of the devices shown at the conference, according to unofficial information, is to be the MatePad Pro 2 tablet. The Huawei Watch 3 was mentioned as the second. Now the manufacturer has confirmed on his Weibo profile that such a device will actually see its premiere. Huawei suggested that the expected smartwatch will bring new, interesting functions that have not been available in this series of devices so far.

So what will stand out from the Huawei Watch 3 with HarmonyOS? This is already known from other reports on this topic. Leaks say that thanks to the new platform, the watch will allow the installation of external applications, just like in real smartwatches. Until now, Huawei watches were functionally limited to what the manufacturer pre-installed in them, you could only add new dials. Now it should be more like Samsung or Wear OS watches.

Support for eSIM is mentioned among other functions of the Huawei Watch 3. Although this is a function that consumes a lot of energy, the watch is supposed to offer a relatively long operating time, which may be the result of intelligent hardware resource management. Earlier, one of the sources of leaks described the novelty of Huawei as "Apple Watch with weekly working time".

Leaks about the Huawei Watch 3 also say that the watch will be equipped with the function of all-day, constant body temperature measurement, as well as advanced heart monitoring, allowing to diagnose cardiovascular diseases - this is suggested by the ECG function. The watch will also be equipped with extensive sports functions with an activity analysis supported by artificial intelligence.

Earlier on Weibo there were screenshots showing the HarmonyOS watch version. You can see icons arranged in a circle, and the functions suggested by them include heart rate monitor, EKG, sleep monitoring, altimeter, training functions, phone calls, music support and weather forecast.
