Flag laptop from Huawei.Huawei, despite the huge blow he received from the US government, is still doing well. The fact may have lost its strong position on the smartphone market, but still exists on the personal computers market. In this segment, Huawei passed through a recent crisis with virtually dry foot. His computers can still use Windows 10 in its full splendor.I recently reviewed Huawei Matebook D16 - it is a surprising middle -class laptop, which proudly continues the tradition of its predecessors, offering many, for relatively little. Now another Matebook hit me - this time quite uncompromising representative of the top price shelf - Huawei Matebook X Pro.Let's start from the very beginning. What can we find in the box?
Simplicity, minimalism and elegance
The contents of the box (which looks quite elegant) is quite modest.Charger, cable and computer itself.Minimalistically, but to be honest, we don't need anything more to be happy.Apple has accustomed us to a kind of hardware asceticism and it is no different in the case of Huawei.Speak briefly - market standard. The computer is lightweight and at the same time looks extremely solid.Matebook X Pro weighs only 1.33 kg, and its design is made of aluminum. It is a notebook with quite compact dimensions of 217 mm x 304 mm x 14.6 mm.Particularly noteworthy here is the last dimension - X Pro is really very slender, which the manufacturer himself boasts.I have to admit that the quality of workmanship is at a really high level and just looking at this computer can give a lot of pleasure.A matte texture and rounded corners make the laptop also extremely pleasant to the touch. It is available in two colors - green and gray.In terms of available ports, we are dealing with an absolute minimum. On the left edge there are two USB-C connectors for charging the computer and a headphone connector.A single USB-a 3 port was located on the right.1.That's all, but in my opinion it is enough. One drawback that I noticed here was placing both type C connectors on one edge.If one of them found its place next to the type A connector, we would have much more freedom, for example when connecting a computer to charging.A small detail, but in my opinion quite important. One of the most important tests I carry out with each laptop is one finger test.It involves trying to raise the flap with one finger and check whether the device is properly balanced and the hinge works smoothly. If something is wrong, the whole computer will rise together with the flap.Maybe this is a bit funny test, but it really translates into real impressions of use.In the premium class we pay special attention to such small things.Although I had some doubts here because of the low weight and thickness of the laptop, it turned out that Matebook X Pro passed the test of one finger perfectly.
Screen - just wow
After opening our eyes, the very good in the form of a huge screen, for such dimensions of the device, with a diagonal of 13.9 inches - was really not enough to a full 14 inches. The display has unusual 3: 2 proportions, which can be associated primarily with Microsoft equipment. The screen, surrounded by narrow 4.4 mm thick frames, is higher than usual, which can facilitate work in many situations, providing more vertical work space. However, that's not all.The FullView 3K screen has a really high resolution, which is 3200 x 2000.With such a diagonal, the image displayed on this screen is sharp as Żyleta. Thanks to the covering of 100% of the SRGB2 color space, we have the certainty of excellent color reproduction. But that's still not all!The screen used in Matebook X Pro is a touch screen! The fact is not a fully converted computer, but the presence of a touch matrix is a pretty pleasant addition that in the case of Windows 10 makes a lot of sense - the Microsoft system is quite well optimized for touch support.Below the screen you will find, of course, a keyboard that is...Pleasant and that's all I can say about her.The keys have a low profile, but they "knock" quite clearly.I would describe writing on this keyboard as correct.A large touchpad was placed under the keyboard. The backlight is a bit too weak, but this keyboard has one small secret about which readers of my review Huawei Matebook D16 probably already know.Well, the use of extremely narrow frames has set a challenge to pressing a webcam somewhere. The mobile character of this computer rather forces the presence of this add -on and Huawei could not just give up the camera. He decided to put it in ... a keyboard. We will find it in the highest row of keys exactly in the middle.Pressing the key with the webcam icon will make the camera jump out, setting up in a convenient position for filming.Unfortunately, the angle in which it is set is not the most convenient and our interlocutor will always see us a bit from below.
Audio knocks off your feet
Above the keyboard we will also find a fingerprint reader, and on its sides there are speakers.Audio is the element at which I would like to stay a little longer. The sound coming from four speakers of this tiny computer is phenomenal.I was totally surprised when I decided to start a movie on this equipment for the first time.It was then on "Godzilla vs.Kong ".The sounds of the monster struggle spread loudly and loudly, for which strong bass and clear treble were responsible. These are probably the best laptop speakers I have dealt with in recent years.Since we have already discussed external issues, it's time to go to what inside, i.e. to the specification of Matebook X Pro.There will be no surprises here, because we are dealing with a high shelf.
There was a lot of fit in this slender housing
The brain of this computer is the Intel Core i7 1165G7 processor, supported by 16 GB of RAM.We have up to 1 TB of nvme ssd on our data.Graphics are an integrated Intel Iris XE system, which is surprisingly doing well, although of course this computer cannot be treated in terms of playing machine.Older titles, graphics processing, and even the editing of simple films are, however, as much as possible.I checked the performance of this particular configuration with a standard benchamar set: PCMARK, 3DMARK and Cinebench. The results are as follows: as you can see, we are dealing here with a quite competent set and you really feel it.This computer flies like crazy and I did not see a single slowdown here during everyday work.As I mentioned above, this computer is also doing well in games, although it is not a typical gaming computer.I checked the integrated Intel Iris X graphics card in Apex: legends, cs: go and league of legends. While playing in Apex, we can count on 50-60 frames per second on the lowest graphic settings - the game is playable. The same applies to the other titles that have lower requirements. The work culture is also positively surprising.During regular use, the computer is practically silent.Under a stronger load, effective cooling effectively distributes heat. The 56 Wh battery does not disappoint, which according to the manufacturer is to ensure about 11 hours of office work.Well, I could not finish up to these 11 hours, although 9 was absolutely achievable and completely satisfying.Everything, of course, depends on how we use the computer. If we empty the battery, we can charge it quite efficiently with the attached charger.Because it is a USB-c charger, nothing prevents us from recharging our phone.
Summary - it's not cheap, but it's really worth it
Huawei Matebook X Pro captivated me with its elegance, simplicity and attachment to details.Although this is not an ideal computer, it really does not lack much for this ideal. It will not be a surprise that this laptop is not the cheapest - this is the Huaweia flagship in the personal computers sector after all.We have to pay PLN 7499 for a model with a 512 TB disk.An additional one thousand costs an increase in disk capacity to 1TB - we have to pay PLN 8499 for such a configuration. If you are interested in buying this computer, it is worth hurrying, because from April 15 to 25, you will be able to buy it in a special, really sensational offer.Together with the computer we will get the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro watch, Huawei AX3 router, Huawei wireless mouse and a backpack.Such a set of freebies means that such a purchase is starting to be really paid!Huawei Matebook Pro X received the "good product" distinction.Don't miss similar messages → Watch us on Google News.
