For this purpose, it is worth using permissions that allow access to secured and hidden areas of the phone (e.g. special files). Additional privileges will allow you to modify (and even increase) the capabilities imposed by the manufacturer. This is not a very complicated process, but it does require some time to explore the subject. So how to root Android? What is it, how to do it, what are the benefits and possible risks? we answer!

What is ROOT?

ROOT (core) is a level of appropriate permissions to access secure and hidden files, which can be used, among others, for: to increase the performance of the phone (core access is used to modify the capabilities imposed by the developers).

Each mobile device (e.g. phone or tablet) is limited by the manufacturer in some way to prevent overheating, preserve memory for future updates, etc. Rooting Android allows you to bypass, extend or modify existing limitations.

How to Root Android in 5 Steps?

Android Phones ->

Rooting Android is a multi-level process that requires at least minimal interest in a given topic. It is impossible to present an unambiguous procedure, because the individual stages depend on the smartphone model, but most of the tips in this article will work perfectly regardless of the type of device. So how to root Android in 5 steps?

STEP 1 - start the smartphone in RECOVERY mode

The above mode is necessary to perform very useful manipulations. The default "recovery" is a stripped down version that allows you to install a modified RECOVERY called "CUSTOM RECOVERY". How to run it?

  1. Turn off the smartphone
  2. Start it with the combination of buttons: POWER and VOL+

A) POWER is the power button (in the industry vocabulary it is also abbreviated "POV")

B) VOL+ is responsible for increasing the volume on the phone (in the industry vocabulary it is also abbreviated as "V+")

STEP 2 - prepare for the installation of the author's RECOVERY

In order to properly upload the above mode, please refer to the flashing instructions for each model. One of the most popular proprietary modifications is TWRP (proper name for what is called RECOVERY on your smartphone).

This can be used for exactly the same things as the classic "recovery" found on all devices by default (TWRP provides more useful possibilities).

The latest version of TWRP (generally available) can be downloaded from the dedicated website, but in some cases a modified TWRP is required for the smartphone. For this, you need to access the full rooting process to see what kind of tweaking is required.

STEP 3 - upload RECOVERY

After turning on USB debugging (instructions can be found in the manual from the smartphone), download the target TWRP application (i.e. the appropriate file with the "img" extension), and then use the cable , connect the device to a computer or laptop.

Rooting is a smooth process as long as everything is done correctly. Otherwise, verify the failure and try again. Positive information is the fact that unsuccessful rooting can only spoil the Android system (it will not damage the device).

The broken Android system prevents the smartphone from turning on properly, but after analyzing all the errors according to the instructions, the operation should be successful. In most cases, a few tries are enough for the whole process to run successfully.

STEP 4 - launch TWRP

After booting the proprietary TWRP, you can set any language, create a system backup, and even remove applications that "killed" the phone. These are just a few of the many options offered by this modification. To learn more, just click through all the functionalities.

STEP 5 - Install Android Root App

How to Root Android - Step by Step Guide

Modified TWRP allows you to install an Android root app. The most popular and functional is MAGISK (it can be downloaded from the Google Play store).

MAGISK allows you to grant ROOT permissions, as well as download applications for rooted smartphones from a dedicated store. There are very interesting additions to the Android system. These include:

Rooting programs guarantee many interesting functionalities (e.g. changing the interface, fonts, themes, advanced audio settings).

These are very interesting functionalities that carry the risk of numerous errors (if used incorrectly). It is worth remembering to obtain a backup of the Android system before operating with ROOT.

9 of the best ROOTA applications - specific examples

The most functional ROOTA applications stand out with numerous possibilities. Some are responsible for removing ads, others recover photos from the phone and change advanced audio settings, and still others provide access to system files. Depending on your level of depth in the subject - you can bring a lot of useful options to your smartphone (provided you use it properly). So, what are the best root apps?

  1. Magisk Manager - application to hide ROOT
  2. AFWall+ - high quality firewall for rooted Android
  3. AdAway - eliminate ads in any application
  4. Solid Explorer - an intuitive manager that allows access to system files
  5. DiskDigger Photo Recovery - an application that facilitates the recovery of deleted photos
  6. ViPER4Android - a renowned program that allows you to increase sound quality
  7. Titanium Backup - backup application (including settings and data of individual applications
  8. System App Remover - remove system applications to save disk space (uninstalling some programs may damage the system)
  9. SD Maid - clearing the memory on the phone with attention to the smallest details

Use all applications carefully, read their descriptions carefully and do not perform any actions accidentally, as this may expose the Android software to numerous damages security vulnerabilities, etc.

How to Root Android? What is it, how to do it, what are the benefits and possible risks? – summary

Android rooting is nothing more than a modification of the standard capabilities imposed by the developers with the appropriate permissions. This brings numerous benefits in the form of a significant acceleration of the device, increased sound quality, and even changing the interface to a prettier and more intuitive one.

Example Play subscription with Android phone:

It is also worth remembering about the other side of the coin - the disadvantages of rooting Android. Some actions can void the warranty, hinder online payments and login processes to some websites, and what's more - introduce security gaps into the software.

To sum up, Android rooting is an interesting feature with many possibilities, but you should always remember to create a backup before doing anything, and most importantly - about the consequences of your actions.

DJ Hazel,

The guide is intended for Android users and does not apply to iOS phones. What's more - there is no way to break the system in the case of rooting with the application, so congratulations on your sense of humor :)

At my place on ASTAR-Y3 tablet, Model V11 from 2015, Processor QuadCore-A33 Android Vers.4.4.2. latest version 4-5-6-3. The kingo-root-4-5-6-2 version worked for that. I suggest you try the older ones. Such as 4-5-6-1 and 4-5-6. Maybe contact :) Now I can finally convert this tablet to Linux Touch, because this Android is a bit ... broken. Every now and then a different version and a lot of ads with each installation that you can't get rid of. Another thing Linux = eternal peace ...

On the LG GPad 8 tablet, the rotation process was successful. After reboot, something seems to have changed, but after entering the application, you have to find the option again and root manually. But it works. It shows No ROOT

I am interested in how antivirus programs react to a rooted smartphone. The article in a nutshell and it is difficult to detect threats (-minuses) that affect the damage of the smartphone in later use. It would be useful to conduct such an analysis on a smartphone that would solve all doubts step by step (e.g. a movie).
