However, let's start from the beginning, i.e. from the device itself.Huawei Nova 9 came to our market in the last quarter of 2021.It is a smartphone for a demanding user, but at the same time one that will not ruin our budget.The manufacturer uses solutions that can be found in more expensive devices without imposing the price of a flagship on them. Before we go to the tests proposed by you, let's describe the competition itself again.You could win the hero of our tests in it, i.e. the Huawei Nova 9 smartphone.To have a chance to get this device, you had to do one simple thing - offer us what specific aspect of the new smartphone we should test.

The hints sent have exceeded our wildest expectations, although - as honest we have to admit - in many cases they proved to be impossible to realize.In many reports, you asked us primarily to drop a device from a height or drop various items on it.You also wanted to know if Nova 9 connected to charging, after falling into the bathtub, would prevent a person from a bathing..

Including risky proposals, we decided to collect all applications and choose the feature of the device, which appeared in the applications most often.It turned out that the most of your votes concerned the features of the device, which are the most important for most of us in smartphones, namely: battery strength and the functioning of specific applications, in particular navigation.And we just tested them.

Suggestions for testing batteries and navigation during the journey came from both professional drivers who set off on longer routes, and people who only move in city traffic on a daily basis.You asked us if Nova 9 would not only allow you to reach your destination quickly and confidently, but also watch the series on your smartphone or play a game during a break on the trip or after it ends.

We chose the Warsaw -Łódź route to the test of such possibilities.We set off on the weekend from Warsaw Praga Południe, going to the western outskirts of Łódź.We returned the same route the next day.Of course, we were accompanied by Huawei Nova 9 with Petal maps.From the driver's perspective, we have regularly overcoming this route, we decided that in both directions the application showed us the fastest and most convenient path. The road to Łódź took us just over two hours, and the ride extended because of one collision and one accident that caused congestion on the route.Thus, we added about 30 minutes to regular travel time.On the way back, there were no such unfortunate events, but we decided to stop for a quick meal (about 20-30 minutes) in one of the premises passed.The total travel time was therefore very similar.When eating a meal, we decided not to turn off the Map of Petal.

After the trip, the phone showed that 20-22% of the battery used it.Slightly less one way, slightly more in the other.It should be emphasized that we decided to set the screen brightness to the maximum while overcoming the entire route to "effort" the smartphone slightly harder.With a darker screen, the device will probably use a little less energy.It should also be noted that Huawei does not follow Nova 9 by competition.The set includes both a cable and a very solid charging cube.Its capabilities are really impressive and in line with what the manufacturer announced.Nova 9 from 80% to 100% took us about ten minutes!It takes a little over 30 minutes to charge the entire device from scratch - we also checked it.Even on a longer route, having access to the socket, we should not complain about the lack of power to watch the series, playing games or listening to music.

In addition, the Petal maps positively surprised us with some nice little things that make it easier or facilitate the journey.The ongoing navigation informs the driver not only about the speed of the vehicle, but also the speed allowed in a given place and whether we crossed it.A small belt is also displayed on the right side of the screen, which shows how many routes we have already covered and how much it is left.So we may not deduct kilometers.Additional icons also automatically appear on the highway, showing what distance it is from the nearest MOP or other place where we can stop.They also included information about what exactly can be found at the selected stop: whether it is only a parking lot, or maybe an additional gas station and a restaurant.As Huawei himself says, such trifles, distinguishing his solution from the competition, there are more in Petal's maps, and there are more planned.

To sum up our journey, there was no moment when we could complain about navigation from Huawei.When it comes to battery use, it is perfect for shorter routes.In a long journey - lasting a few nice hours - it's good to be able to recharge it.However, it is worth emphasizing once again that even a break for a quick meal should allow us to charge the smartphone to full.
