How to block a number with an operator?

Could It seems that the fastest and easiest way to block unwanted numbers is to give the list to the operator. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as it might seem. Unfortunately, in Poland, operators in terms of blocking numbers are not very eager to help their customers.

The provider of our services - no matter if it is Play, Plus, T-Mobile or Orange - will help us only in some cases. First of all, it will allow us to block SMS messages from the so-called "Premium" numbers, i.e. messages from senders whose number starts with the numbers 7, 8 and 9. The operator will also be happy to help us in blocking phone calls, but only those that come from restricted numbers. In other cases, if we want to block a phone number, we have to deal with it ourselves.

How do I block a number on my iPhone?

Well, as with transferring data to another device, iPhone users are again in a slightly better position than owners of other devices. The point is that starting with the iOS 7.0 operating system, the option to block an unwanted number is a system option. Thanks to this, blocking a number does not require installing any special application.

Just find the number from which you do not want to receive calls on the list of incoming calls, then press the information symbol (small letter i in a circle ) – is next to the unwanted contact or number. After opening the next view, we have different options - but we are interested in the last item on the list: block the number. Click on it and you're done. The function works the same in the Messages list or Face Time calls.

If we accidentally blocked the wrong number, or are no longer angry with the person we blocked, we can remove the number from the blacklist. The list of blocked numbers can be found in Settings. We need to click on Phone, and then select Call Blocking and Identification. This allows us to display a list of all numbers ever blocked - to remove a number from the list of blocked calls, just press Edit in the upper right corner and select the appropriate contact to be removed from the list.

How to block a number in Android?

Just like in iOS devices, Android smartphones can block unwanted calls systemically. Unfortunately, this option was introduced only with the latest version of Google's operating system - Android 7.0 Nougat. However, before your device receives - if at all - the right update, you have to deal with it somehow.

It turns out, however, that major manufacturers have already introduced the ability to block connections in their overlays for the system. We can block an unwanted number on Samsung, HTC or even LG phones. The feature is most commonly found in the Settings menu. Then go to Call Settings and look for the appropriate tab there. How a menu item is described depends on the model and operating system version.

If we do not have a device that is equipped with system blocking of incoming calls, one of the ways is permanently saving an unwanted number in the voicemail forwarding list. To do this, we enter the unwanted contact and in the menu select the option to redirect the call to voicemail. Thanks to this, every incoming call from this number will go to our voice mailbox. We can also use this simple trick to create our own blacklist. It is enough to create one contact described, for example, as a "black list" and add unwanted numbers to it and apply the above scheme. The best thing about this method is that it works on most phones.

The lack of some function in the smartphone automatically causes the application to crash. Call blocking apps are no different. Among the programs that block numbers, we will find many that will help get rid of the intruder. Avast is highly recommended! Mobile Security, which in addition to blocking the number permanently, has a function that allows you to block numbers at specific times. In Google Play you will also find other, much simpler applications - just enter the phrase "call blocker" in the search engine. One of the most popular and simplest is the free program Calls Blacklist - Call Blocker.

How do I block a Windows Phone number?

Unless you're using Windows 7.8 or older, blocking numbers shouldn't be a problem. Users of phones with new versions of the Microsoft system (Windows Mobile 8, 8.1 and 10) just need to go to the settings of their phone, search for the Call Filter function and there they can enter any number to be blocked. Unfortunately, users of older versions of the system do not have this option. They also don't have any app to help them.
